Bedford Mosque Map

Map of Every Mosque in Bedford

There are Ten Mosques in Bedford…

…and I just finished visiting all but one of them.

Some are large established Mosques in the town while others are new and upcoming. Some are geared towards a specific cultural community while others are more diverse.

Finding these Mosques is not always easy.

So, I created a map showing every Mosque and Prayer Rooms in Bedford, UK.

But, Who am I?

My name is Faisal. I am originally from Milton Keynes but recently moved to Bedford.

Having already created prayer maps for major cities such as London and Milton Keynes, I thought the next logical step would be to make one for the town I live in.

Moreover, I have provided Ramadan and Taraweeh information for each one.

While you’re here, check out my map of every Motoway service station with a prayer room.

Let’s take a look at each Bedford Mosque in detail.

Al-Falah Mosque

A diverse Mosque in Bedford. The khutbahs are in English, the only language spoken at the Mosque as far as i’m aware.

The Mosque has a separate entrance for men and women, and these are on separate roads. The men’s entrance is located on Priory Street while the women’s entrance can be found on Brereton Road.

I found out about this Mosque from someone on the Muslims of Bedford Facebook group.

The womens facilities are far better than the mens. The toilet and wudu area is clean and the size of the room is similar. Very few Mosques provide such facilities.

Women: Open to women
School: Shaafi (as far as I can tell)
Size: Two small rooms but space used well

Ramadan 2025 At Al-Falah:

Good recitation and lovely atmosphere. They hold Iftars on a Friday and Saturday. I went to one and the food was great. Only issue was there were no spoons that day!

Taraweeh: 8 Rakat
Witr: Prayed the Shafi way sometimes with salam other times in one go.
Iftar: Provided every Friday and Saturday

Bangladesh Islamic Centre Bedford

Small Mosque not too far from the train station and river.

To enter the Mosque walk along the side of the building, the entrance is at the back.

The room is small but there is a nice atmosphere. Watch out for the steps. The first step is larger than the others, I almost fell.

Women: Unclear if open to women
School: Hanafi

Ramadan 2025 At Bangladesh Islamic Centre:

Taraweeh was nice and cosy at this Mosque. They made use of both rooms.

AL-HARAMAIN MOSQUE AND EDUCATION CENTRE BEDFORD

Small Mosque in an industrial estate. The Mosque is a business unit converted. This would be the closest Mosque from Bedford hospital.

The Mosque operates more so as a school/madrassa for children.

Women: Open to women. Same entrance.
School: Hanafi

Ramadan 2025 at Al-Haramain Mosque:

The gathering for taraweeh prayers was small in number, but warm and cosy.

South Bedford Masjid

The one next to Shell.

South Bedford Mosque is a detached building that looks like a home from the outside.

They have a large space in the garden area that is used for prayer during busy times, such as Jummah.

The Mosque itself has limited parking. But, there is plenty of parking on the streets nearby.

The Mosque is ran by the Bangladeshi community and therefore they speak both English and Bengali when giving announcements.

Women: Not open to women from what I can tell
School: Hanafi

Ramadan 2025 at South Bedford Masjid:

Dar AlHuda Masjid

A unique Mosque as the building was a former church, complete with tall windows and arched doors.

I have visited this Mosque a few times and had a great experience every time. Talks are put on for youngsters, the Mosque is clean and currently undergoing some renovation work.

Women: Open to women. Hall upstairs.
School: Hanafi

Ramadan 2025 at Al-Huda:

Perhaps one of the best Quran recitations in Bedford. There is plenty of parking on the side roads at night.

Jamia Masjid Hanfia Ghousia

This was the first Mosque I visited when I came to Bedford for the first time. I was impressed with the size and clean nature of it.

There is a Womens section however you may need to ring a door bell to be let in.

The Mosque is located in Queens Park, a predominantly Muslim area in Bedford.

Gulshan-e-Baghdad Masjid

The big one in Queens Park.

When I first visited this Mosque, I was expecting it to be small. I was shocked with the size and purpose built nature of it.

The Mosque is clean on the inside, very big and has lots of positive reviews on Google.

Women: No space for Jummah. Taraweeh used to have a womens section, unclear if this is still available.
School: Hanafi

Ramadan 2025 at Gulshan-e-Baghdad Masjid:

Great space for taraweeh prayers. When I was there the imam taught us the correct way to fill the gaps, and how it is perfectly fine to move sideways or forward while in salah.
