Muad: Believe Download Muad’s Debut Album | Lyrics

Hanya Rindu is a popular track by Indonesian artist Andmesh. Muad has just released his own English/Arabic cover version of the song, with slight changes to the lyrics.

Firstly, let’s discuss the original artist – Andmesh.

Who is Andmesh?

Andmesh first appeared on a reality TV show called Rising Star Indonesia, a singing competition in search for a new star.

He frequently followed his father on stage, a keyboard player. After his father passed away in 2014, Andmesh started singing alone.

The original song, Hanya Rindu, was released on April 26 2019 and was the third single by Andmesh since his debut. Tragically, Andmesh lost his mother too and created this song for his late parents.

It’s a popular track gaining over 137 million views on Youtube. So, let’s take a look at the original song:

Muad sings in English and Arabic, whereas the original song is in the Indonesian language.

Moreover, Muad has altered the lyrics slightly, using the name of Allah and tailoring the song to himself.

But who is Muad?

Muad is a British-Yemeni singer and songwriter, who sings Nasheeds or faith inspired Islamic songs.

Muad recently released an original debut album titled ‘Home’, featuring hit songs such as ‘Salam‘ and ‘Jannah‘ – which he also sang with Zain Bhikha!

Lyrics Analysis

References to the Quran and Hadith have been numbered above, and explained in this section.

1 – Allah runs to you!

I turn to you because i know you always listen

There is an amazing hadith about getting closer to Allah.

So, what does it say?

Allah says he will come an arm’s length towards you if you go one cubit towards him. Furthermore, Allah run towards you if you walk towards him.

As the song suggests, this implies we should always turn to Allah at times of need and never doubt whether he will listen. Because, he will!

I treat my slave according to his expectations from Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in his heart, I remember him in My heart; if he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a better and nobler gathering (i.e. of angels), if he comes closer to Me by one span, I go towards him a cubit’s length, if he comes toward Me by a cubit’s length, I go towards him an arm’s length, and if he walks towards Me, I run unto him.”

(Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

2 – Live like a traveller

I walk through it like a traveller

A direct reference to a hadith, we should pass through this world as if we are a traveller.

What does this mean?

We should not get too attached to this world, rather learn from it and always remember our final destination is with Allah.

On the authority of Ibn Umar (R.A.), who said: The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.) took me by the shoulder and said: “Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler/wayfarer.”  Ibn Umar added:  “When evening comes, do not expect (to live till) morning, and when morning comes, do not expect (to live till) evening. Take from your health (a preparation) for your illness, and from your life for your death.”

(Bukhari: 6416)

3 – There is only one way to find peace

I prayed to my lord that with you. My soul is at peace

Another direct reference to the Quran – Muad is getting brownie points!

Allah tells us there is only one way for the heart to find peace. How?

Through remembrance of him

“those who have faith and whose hearts find peace in the remembrance of God- truly it is in the remembrance of God that hearts find peace-“

(Quran 13:28)

4 – We cannot see Allah in this life. Prophet Moses (PBUH) tried to…

Did you know the prophet Moses (PBUH) asked if he could see Allah in person?

So, what happened?

Moses was instructed to look at a mountain. Because, if he could look at the mountain he would see Allah.

However, Allah caused Moses to fall unconscious when he tried to look at the mountain. This implies we will never see Allah in this life.

‘And when Moses arrived at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, “My Lord, show me [Yourself] that I may look at You.” [Allah] said, “You will not see Me, but look at the mountain; if it should remain in place, then you will see Me.” But when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He rendered it level, and Moses fell unconscious. And when he awoke, he said, “Exalted are You! I have repented to You, and I am the first of the believers”.’ [Qur’an, 7:143](Hadith 1841 – Muslim)

However, as a reward for the believers, Allah will show himself in the hereafter.

“Many faces, that day, will be glowing, looking towards their Lord”

(Quran 75:22-23)

5 – The song ends with the names of Allah

The most gracious
The most merciful
The source of peace
The most generous
The guide to repentance
The almighty
The most forgiving
The all knowing

There are 99 names of Allah, whoever commits them into memory will enter paradise.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah has ninety-nine names and whoever preserves them will enter Paradise.”

Final Thoughts

I usually prefer original songs, however Muad has done really well with this one.

The new lyrics are perfect while the video and production has been created well. Good work Muad!
