The Power is indeed a powerful track, both in lyrics and production.
The song features a Zulu choir known as Amakhono We Sintu, adding an African theme to the track. The music video was actually filmed in South Africa, opening with Maher watching a Rhinoceros. After this there are many scenes featuring safari animals in their natural habitat.
Maher and Awakening Records have gone for an uplifting, inspirational feel with this one. The lyrics focus on the Shahada, reminding us of the power of Allah and that his remembrance will lead to success.

1 La ilaha illa Allah, wa’Allahu Akbar (There is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest)
Its always positive to hear the shahada in a Nasheeds. The Shahada is the Islamic testimony of faith.
“Allah bears witness that there is no god but He, and (so do) the angels and those possessed of knowledge, maintaining His creation with justice; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise” (Quran 3:18)
Muslims often say ‘and Muhammed is his messenger’ after this. These two parts are actually never mentioned besides each other in the Quran. They are however referred to in Hadith.
2 That’s the power of remembering Allah. It’s the best way to purify your heart
“Only in remembrance of Allah (swt) will your heart find peace“ (Quran 13:28)
3 And know you will be loved by the Merciful One
“Certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).” (Quran 3:159)
4 So much you can gain, just by saying those few words
“The Prophet — Allah bless and greet him — said: “Whoever says: there is no god but Allah enters Paradise.”” (Abu Dharr in the Kabir 7:55).
5 You can renew your faith
We are taught to constantly renew our faith.
“Faith wears out in your heart as clothes wear out, so ask Allah to renew the faith in your hearts.” (narrated by al-Haakim in his Mustadrak and al-Tabaraani in his Mu’jam with a saheeh isnaad)
6 And be showered in rewards
“And whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while being a believer – those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged, [even as much as] the speck on a date seed” (Quran 4:124)
Final Thoughts
The Power is energising, uplifting, different and lyrically inspirational – certainly my favourite track from the album.
