Let’s go!

10. World Goes Blind by Samer

Samer - World Goes Blind (Lyric Video) | it feels like the world goes blind

Released just one week prior to compiling this list, ‘World Goes Blind’ is a new song about the struggle in Palestine.

But who is Samer?

Samer is new to the industry and therefore we know very little about him. His focus is on RNB and right now he’s just starting out.

But you can keep up to date with his progress by following Samer on Instagram, Twitter and Tiktok. Search for the handle: @samermadeit

Let’s take a look at the Lyrics.

World Goes Blind Lyrics

[Verse 1]

I go to sleep every night feeling traumatized
They say occupation tryna hide that it is a genocide
I just wish a kid could grow up to see his mama
Wish that I could do something ‘bout bombs dropped in Gaza
Hurt so bad to know
Where do my tax dollars go
Murdered in cold blood
Poor young soul all he know was love
The whole world goes blind, turned to silence
While I’m saying free Palestine from the tyrants

[Hook]

I don’t even know if I could handle this pain
Everyday is a murder, kids get put in the grave
Shot for his race in a place he was raised
When peace was the only thing he ever craved
So how you justify what you’re doing
Hurt so bad to see all the lives we losing
It feels like the world goes blind
Free Palestine, Free Palestine

[Verse 2]

Pray to god that the world gon’ finally see
What goes on overseas and behind the scenes
A lil’ boy get his neck on the concrete
A George Floyd in the kid when he’s tryna breathe
He threw a rock, but They got a tank
Dead on the floor, he be praying for change
You murder children’s, no we’re not the same
You got my people, they dying in chains
Ain’t nobody evil like the IDF
No kidding in Palestine I might be next
He got shot, in peace may he rest
I’ve seen him in the videos and photographs
You shoot a kid and you laugh about it
Hurts that nobody ever asks about it
Too many bodys to count, simple mathematics
Family’s gone, it’s so traumatic

[Bridge]

Leave his home alone
He was there his whole life, now everything is gone
He don’t got no shoulder to cry on, not even moms
They done made him homeless, now he got no one
Family deceased by explosions
Mentally he’s scarred and all he see is those moments
All he can do is pray
Pray he gon’ live another day

[Hook]

I don’t even know if I could handle this pain
Everyday is a murder, kids get put in the grave
Shot for his race in a place he was raised
When peace was the only thing he ever craved
So how you justify what you’re doing
Hurt so bad to see all the lives we losing
It feels like the world goes blind
Free Palestine, Free Palestine

09. Forever Palestine by Sami Yusuf

04 Forever Palestine

A classic Nasheed | Download from Amazon

‘Forever Palestine’ featured on the album titled ‘Without You’, released by Awakening Records in 2009.

Sami Yusuf takes a soft approach to his Nasheeds, and therefore his voice is perfect for an emotional song about Palestine.

The lyrics are powerful.

Forever Palestine Lyrics

Mother don’t cry for me I am heading off to war
God almighty is my armour and sword
Palestine, Forever Palestine

Children being killed for throwing stones in the sky
They say to their parents don’t worry, God is on our side
Palestine, Forever Palestine
Mother don’t worry when they come for us at night
Surely they’ll be sorry when God puts them right
Tell me why they’re doing what was done to them
Don’t they know that God is with the oppressed and needy
Perished were the nations that ruled through tyranny
Palestine, Forever Palestine

Children of Palestine are fighting for their lives
They say to their parents we know that Palestine is our right, they to say to their parents we’ll fight for what is right
They say not to worry God is on our side, they say we’ll die for Palestine
Palestine, Forever Palestine

08. A Free Palestine by Jae Deen and Waheeb Nasan

Brand new! Released just two days prior to writing this review.

Jae Deen has teamed up with Waheeb Nasan to bring you a positive hip-hop style song about Palestine.

However this is not the first time Jae Deen and Waheeb Nasan have sang for Palestine. In 2019 they released a track titled ‘Touchdown Palestine‘ (mp3), which was written to encourage others to visit and learn about Palestinian culture and history.

In conclusion, if you’re into hip-hop and rap music then you will love both songs.

07. Palestine Gaza City by MC Abdul (11 year old boy from Gaza)

MC Abdul - Palestine [FREEVERSE]

This one is different.

The singer/rapper is actually an 11 year old boy from Gaza, and the video is striking.

Why?

The boy has produced a fantastic music video, captured in a single take with a sliding camera. However in the background we see the rubble of a recently bombed building and workers are still cleaning it up.

At the beginning of the video the picture shows standing buildings alongside one that has been struck down, however the standing buildings are no longer visible as the camera pans. We see much more rubble and destruction. Perhaps the young rapper has done this deliberately to help convey the gradual destruction to his city… or perhaps we are reading too far?

Either way, MC Abdul has struck the hearts of many.

His dad manages his Youtube page and writes a message from Abdul in the description:

This past week has been very tough for my home, Gaza City. I just want the world to know about the situation in Palestine. Music is what keeps me going.

MC Abdul

The lyrics are smart, his clever use of the word pray/prey along with brief history lesson on how he ended up in Gaza in the first place. Let’s take a look.

Palestine Gaza City Lyrics:

Palestine’s been occupied for decades
Been our home for centuries
This land is generations
All my family’s memories

To play and grow and nurture
The symbol of peace
The olive tree’s guarantee that our people could eat

Living with limitations
Pushed down by the occupation
Want to see the pain?
Take a look at the people’s faces
Imagine being kicked out of the only house you ever known
We’re praying for our souls
While they’re preying on our homes

It’s not easy to put this into words
Looking at my baby sister
Is this something she deserves?
Growing up in a world
Where she’s not treated the same
Denied the right to live free
Because of where she came
They wanna occupy this land
Won’t let them occupy my mind
I stay occupy this side
As I write about my life

Because my whole admission
Is to make people listen
This one’s for Sheikh Jarrah
Hoping it can make a difference
‘Cos the same thing happened in ’48
My grandparents got evicted
And forced to move away
To the refugee camp in Gaza
No, nothing has changed
They could never return
So this where I am today

Getting calls from cousins to see if I am alive
This here is not fireworks that are lighting the sky
We trying to celebrate in Eid
And keep the faith
I guess you could say it’s how memories are made
Falasteen

06. Ya Aqsa by Muad

Released less than a week before writing this review, Ya Aqsa is an emotional song from Nasheed artist Muad.

We have reviewed several Nasheeds by Muad over the past year, such as Salam, We Shall Rise and Jannah (ft Zain Bhikha).

Muad is great at releasing new content in a short timeframe. And he has done just that with his new song ‘Ya Aqsa’, which he swiftly released during a time of high tension in the region.

As the name suggests, the song is focused on educating and promoting the protection of Masjid Al Aqsa.

Moreover, since releasing Ya Aqsa, Muad has released another song about the Palestinian conflict in general. Check it out.

The Ya Aqsa music video has been created by @victoriaofislam, who loved the song so much she felt she had to create a justified video for it. We think she has done a great job! She even gives a history lesson at the end.

Ya Aqsa Lyrics

I will not fall
But i’m forgotten
I’m standing tall
I feel abandoned
Stand elevated
Blessed by the prophets
Led by the greatest
And peace it was promised

Can you hear my cry
Can you feel my heart
One day the sun will rise
Over this land of love

Arabic Chorus Translation

Ya Aqsa
Your Love is in my heart
Forgive me Aqsa
You cry tears from your eyes
So here I am
I pray to my lord
Protect it Ya Allah
It will always be in my heart

Can you hear my cry
Can you feel my heart
One day the sun will rise
Over this land of love

Ya Aqsa
Your Love is in my heart
Forgive me Aqsa
You cry tears from your eyes
So here I am
I pray to my lord
Protect it Ya Allah
It will always be in my heart

05. Palestine Will Be Free by Maher Zain

Maher Zain - Palestine Will Be Free | ماهر زين - فلسطين سوف تتحرر | Official Music Video

Powerful and emotional | Download on Amazon

Perhaps one of the most popular Nasheed artists of our time. Signed by Awakening Records, Maher Zain released a song about Palestine in 2009. And it has over 18 million views.

Palestine Will be Free is a fantastic song, sung from the heart. It features in Maher Zain’s third album ‘One’.

The cartoon nature of the video is different and interesting as it tells the story of a child standing up to a large tank with nothing but a stone, a common sight in Palestine.

Watch the Vocals only version

Palestine Will Be Free Lyrics

We keep telling each other
That this day will be
Will be the last and tomorrow
We all can go home free
And all this will finally end
Palestine tomorrow will be free
Palestine tomorrow will be free

No mother, no father to wipe away my tears
That’s why I won’t cry
I feel scared but I won’t show my fears
I keep my head high
Deep in my heart I never have any doubt
That Palestine tomorrow will be free
Palestine tomorrow will be free

I saw those rockets and bombs shining in the sky
Like drops of rain in the sun’s light
Taking away everyone dear to my heart
Destroying my dreams in a blink of an eye
What happened to our human rights?
What happened to the sanctity of life?
And all those other lies?
I know that I’m only a child
But is your conscience still alive?

I will caress with my bare hands
Every precious grain of sand
Every stone, and every tree
‘Cause no matter what they do
They can never hurt you
‘Cause your soul will always be free

Palestine tomorrow will be free
Palestine tomorrow will be free

04. Story of Palestine by @Emmasworld (Tiktok)

This is not an official song. But wow!

So far the song has obtained 700k views on Tiktok alone and is being reposted all over Youtube, Whatsapp and other social sites.

But why is it so popular?

Because it’s an amazing song, containing smart lyrics and a detailed history lesson – all in one.

@emmasworld.101 released this video on her Tiktok and Instagram just two days before writing this review. It’s safe to say there are plenty more views to come. In fact, i’ve never seen a single video show up on my social media channels more frequently than this one – everyone is sharing it.

Not only is she giving Palestinians hope through song, but she’s actively trying to change the mind of those with an opposing view. This is evident by the lyric “It’s time to change your mind” in the song.

So who is Emma?

Her name is Eman Askar, she is a content creator who usually posts in the Arabic language. From her reaction on Instagram, it’s clear that Eman was not expecting to get the positive reception that she did.

But what is the tune she sings in?

It’s Sea Shanty.

Sea Shanty is a genre of traditional folk song that was once commonly sung as a work song to accompany rhythmical labor aboard large merchant sailing vessels. They were found mostly on British and other European ships, and some had roots in lore and legend. Learn more.

Let’s take a look at the lyrics

Story of Palestine Lyrics (@emmasworld.101)

There once was a land called Palestine
Where Christians Muslims and Jews lived fine
In the 1800s it was ruled by the Ottoman empire

Meanwhile a bearded guy
Founded zionists for Jews to aspire
A land that becomes their home for safe
Only for their kind
Then there was world war one
That ended when the alleys won
And England was like hey this beautiful land is totally mine

Still the name was Palestine
Even though it was colonized
And the promise for a Zionist state
Was made by a man that had no right

The more and more Jews arrived
Seeking refuge and that’s all right
Until their plan to steal the land was
No longer to hide

The year was 1948 when Israel bullied
Its way into a state
Thousands of Palestinians fled their homes to survive

No right for eternal right for a home
No right to fight for the land that the owned
Israel expended more and more into an apartheid

Where is your humanity
Where is your respect for dignity
Call it a conflict that’s insanity
It’s time to change your mind
One day Palestine will be free
So be on the right side of history
You’re not Anti-Sematic if you stand against war crimes

Don’t be brainwashed by the news
now you can see for yourself their truth
learn about the story… story of Palestine

03. We Will Not Go Down by Micheal Heart

Released in 2009, this one is a true classic | Download on Amazon

‘We Will Not Go Down’ is a song by Micheal Heart, focusing on Gaza. The song is powerful, uplifting and extremely well produced with a mix of western and eastern instruments.

The official video has over 8 million views however is unavailable for embedding due to it’s age restriction. Users who wish to watch it must sign in and accept that they are viewing a video that may contain disturbing images.

But why?

Because the video features a slideshow of still images showing victims of attacks in Gaza, vital for helping bring the message out. Therefore, it’s not for everyone but those who wish to watch the official video may do so.

While this song focuses on Gaza in particular, other artists have produced their own version. For Example, Muad (who’s song we mentioned earlier) has recently released a Nasheed version of this song. It’s not focused on Palestine as such, but speaks about oppression in general. Check out Muad’s version of this song: We Shall Rise Nasheed review.

We Will Not Go Down Lyrics

A blinding flash of white light
Lit up the sky over Gaza tonight
People running for cover
Not knowing whether they’re dead or alive

They came with their tanks and their planes
With ravaging fiery flames
And nothing remains
Just a voice rising up in the smoky haze

We will not go down
In the night, without a fight
You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools
But our spirit will never die
We will not go down
In Gaza tonight

Women and children alike
Murdered and massacred night after night
While the so-called leaders of countries afar
Debated on who’s wrong or right

But their powerless words were in vain
And the bombs fell down like acid rain
But through the tears and the blood and the pain
You can still hear that voice through the smoky haze

We will not go down
In the night, without a fight
You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools
But our spirit will never die
We will not go down
In Gaza tonight

We will not go down
In the night, without a fight
You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools
But our spirit will never die

We will not go down
In the night, without a fight

We will not go down
In Gaza tonight

Here are the full lyrics:

Long Live Palestine Lyrics

This is for Palestine, Ramallah, West Bank, Gaza,
This is for the child that is searching for an answer,
I wish I could take your tears and replace them with laughter,
Long live Palestine, Long live Gaza!

Verse 1

While we listen to tunes, made by ignorant fools,
Israel blocked the UN from delivering food,
They’ll bring in the troops and you won’t even glimpse at the news,
They make money of the products that we are quick to consume,
It’s not simply a question of differing views,
Forget emotions, this is fact, what I spit is the truth,
Makes no difference if you’re a Christian or if you’re a Jew,
They are just people living in different conditions to you,
They still die when you bomb their schools, mosques and hospitals,
It is not because of rockets, please god can you stop it all,
I’m not related to the strangers on the TV,
But I relate because those faces could have been me,
Words can never ever explain the raw tragedy,
It’s not a war they’re just murdering more rapidly,
We are automatically supporting pure savagery,
Imagine how you’d feel if it was your family,

[Chorus]

Free my people long live Palestine
We will never let you go
Free Free Palestine

Verse 2

Palestine remains in my heart forever,
We stand for peace, in times of war we shan’t surrender,
Remember, it didn’t start in that dark December,
Every coin is a bullet, if you’re Mark’s and Spencer,
And when your sipping Coca-Cola,
That’s another pistol in the holster of a soulless soldier,
You say you know about the Zionist lobby,
But you put money in their pocket when you’re buying their coffee,
Talking about revolution, sitting in Starbucks,
The fact is that’s the type of thinking I can’t trust,
Let alone even start to respect,
Before you talk learn the meaning of that scarf on your neck,
Forget Nestle,
Obama promised Israel 30 billion over the next decade,
They’re trigger happy and they’re crazy,
Think about that when you’re putting Huggies nappies on your baby,

[Chorus]

Free my people long live Palestine
We will never let you go
Free Free Palestine

Verse 3

This is not just a war over stolen land,
Why do you think little boys are throwing stones at tanks?
We will never really know how many people are dead,
They drop bombs on little girls while they sleep in their beds,
Don’t get offended by facts, just try and listen,
Nothing is more anti-Semitic than Zionism, so please don’t bring bad vibes when you speak to me,
I know there’s plenty of Rabbi’s that agree with me,
It’s your choice what you do with this message,
Don’t get it confused; I view this from a truly human perspective,
How many more resolutions have to be violated,
How many more children have to be annihilated
Israel is a terror state, there terrorists that terrorise,
I testify, my television televised them telling lies,
This is not a war it is systematic genocide, but whatever they try Palestine will never die!

01. Dammi Falastini by Mohammed Assaf

Upbeat, fun and energetic. Our number one!

Dammi Falastini is a traditional Arabic song released back in 2015 by Palestinian singer Mohammed Assaf. The phrase ‘Dammi Falastini’ means ‘My Blood is Palestinian’.

If you’ve only heard about this song recently you’re not alone. The song has gone viral all over Tiktok, expanding the reach to people beyond the Arabic speaking world.

The music is perfect for doing the Dubke dance.

But what is Dubke?

Dabke combines circle dance and line dancing and is widely performed at weddings and other joyous occasions. The line forms from right to left and leader of the dabke heads the line, alternating between facing the audience and the other dancers.

So who is Mohammed Assaf?

Mohammed Assaf became famous as the winner of the second season of Arab idol, broadcast by the MBC network. His victory received worldwide coverage in the media and was welcomed with joy by Palestinians and the rest of the Arab world. Most of his music is sung in Iraqi, Khallegi dialect, not a Palestinian one.

Did you know?

There is no letter ‘P’ in the Arabic alphabet, therefore Palestine is pronounced ‘Falestine’ in Arabic.

Dammi Falestini Lyrics

Keeping my oath, following my religion
You will find me on my land
I belong to my people, I sacrifice my soul for them
My blood is Palestinian, Palestinian, Palestinian
My blood is Palestinian

We stood for you, our homeland
With our pride and Arabisim
Al-Quds land called us
(As) The sound of my mother calling me
Palestinian, Palestinian
My blood is Palestinian

Keeping my oath, following my religion
You will find me on my land
I belong to my people, I sacrifice my soul for them
My blood is Palestinian, Palestinian, Palestinian
My blood is Palestinian

O mother don’t worry
Your homeland is a fortified castle
Which I sacrifice my soul for
And my blood, and my veins

Keeping my oath, following my religion
You will find me on my land
I belong to my people, I sacrifice my soul for them
My blood is Palestinian, Palestinian, Palestinian
My blood is Palestinian

I’m Palestinian, a son of a free family
I’m brave and my head is always up, i’m
keeping my oath to you my homeland
And I have never bowed to anyone
Palestinian, Palestinian
My blood is Palestinian

Keeping my oath, following my religion
You will find me on my land
I belong to my people, I sacrifice my soul for them
My blood is Palestinian, Palestinian, Palestinian
My blood is Palestinian
