Tell me About Ali Magrebi

If you have never heard of Ali Magrebi don’t worry, as he is relatively new to the industry.

Ali Magrebi is a Libyan artist. He aims at delivering music with valuable lyrics, helping to lift up his Libyan community as well as the wider Arab speaking nations.

Ali’s love of music began at an early age, when he would participate in school festivals, local Ahazeej singing and Qur’an recitation competitions, attracting a fairly large Libyan audience.

What is Buyoot Elfarh About?

It’s all about learning from mistakes and experiences that we go through in life – a truly Islamic message.

The opening line reads: ‘Life does not stop when the one we love says farewell and leaves’.

This is speaking about one of two things:

  1. The one we love rejects us and leaves a relationship
  2. The one we love passes away

Dealing with one who leaves a relationship

We should try to deal with these situations in a positive manner as the song teaches.

Many Muslims are looking for potential spouses only to get rejected by many potentials.

Don’t give up!

At Islamic Music Hub, we put together a list of ways to find a Muslim spouse. Hopefully it helps open new doors and makes it easy to find a spouse.

Dealing with a loved one who passes away

With Covid-19 affecting the world, many of us are experiencing the passing away of loved ones on a regular basis.

Perhaps the song was written and released with the global pandemic in mind.

When hearing of the passing away of someone, we should remind ourselves of the following verse:

“Verily we belong to Allah, and verily to Him do we return.”

(Quran 2:156)

Buyoot Elfarh Music Video

The music video released on 21/01/21 and features Ali singing in what appears to be his home, or a coffee shop.

He appears to have lost a loved one and looks like he is about to give up on life, only to see a potential couple from the window. The video ends showing the couple finding love and potentially married – a positive finish.

Buyoot Elfarh Lyrics & Translation

English Translation

Life doesn’t stop after the one we loved says farewell and leaves – 1 read analysis
And our sadness will never allow us to let go of our misery
It is within our hands to make our days full of laughter
In front of us and in front of our dreams…
all the doors will open

Life doesn’t stop after the one we loved says farewell and leaves
And our sadness will never allow us to let go of our misery
It is within our hands to make our days full of laughter
In front of us and in front of our dreams…
all the doors will open

My heart, forget the wound!
Come on, no need to delay or live in confusion and apathy
The homes of happiness still…
contain a lot of goodness, and there are many…
who still haven’t lost hope
And if you and I give up then what shall be done?
My heart, forget the wound!

Come on, no need to delay or live in confusion and apathy
The homes of happiness still…
contain a lot of goodness, and there are many…
who still haven’t lost hope
And if you and I give up then what shall be done?

Why do we leave our feelings in pain without comforting them?
It’s from our mistakes that we learn not to repeat them again
We will try again because…
it’s only those who try who make mistakes and fall
And the experience must be lived
Why do we leave our feelings in pain without comforting them?
It’s from our mistakes that we learn not to repeat them again
We will try again because…

it’s only those who try who make mistakes and fall
And the experience must be lived
My heart, forget the wound!
The homes of happiness still…
And if you and I give up then what shall be done?
My heart, forget the wound!
Come on, no need to delay or live in confusion and apathy
The homes of happiness still…

contain a lot of goodness, and there are many…
who still haven’t lost hope
And if you and I give up then what shall be done?

Lyrics Analysis

References to the Quran and Hadith have been numbered above, and explained in this section.

1 – What to say when someone dies

Life doesn’t stop after the one we loved says farewell and leaves

Islam teaches us to remind ourselves that we are only here for a short time, and will return to Allah. we do this by saying the following:

“Verily we belong to Allah, and verily to Him do we return.”

(Quran 2:156)

Final Thoughts

Despite not speaking Arabic myself, I really enjoyed learning about the meaning behind this one.

The video and lyrics are both powerful and perfect in the context of the pandemic. Therefore, i’d say this track is just what the Muslim world needed.
