Safe Adam: Sujood Download | MP3 (Amazon)
Track number 8 from the album, Sujood is all about finding Allah.
The track emphasises the importance of turning to Allah at times in need, and teaches that calling out to Allah allows our hearts to find peace.
It has a cinematic sound and the use of violin helps bring emotion and power into the track – giving it a boost up the rating scale.
Please see lyrics below, as usual I have called out links to religious text.

Safe Adam – Sujood Lyrics
My heart is heavy
My hands are weak
My goals have perished
Oh i’m in need
My soul is empty
I need to find
How do we spend these days and lonely nights?
In my Sujood – 1
I call to you
To ease this hardship this dunya has put me through
In my Sujood
I call to you
You ease my pain I only find my peace through you – 2
In my Sujood
In my Sujood
In my Sujood
You are my guidance
My source of hope
You see my tears
And how they fall
I feel the greatness
Of your love
Please have mercy on my soul oh Allah
In my Sujood
I call to you
To ease this hardship this dunya has put me through
In my Sujood
I call to you
You ease my pain I only find my peace through you
In my Sujood
In my Sujood
In my Sujood
I found what I have lost
May the lights you shine consume me
Let the lion make his roar
No fear I have you with me
In my Sujood
I call to you
To ease this hardship this dunya has put me through
In my Sujood
I call to you
You ease my pain I only find my peace through you
In my Sujood
In my Sujood
In my Sujood
Links to Quran / Hadith
Links to the Quran and hadith have been numbered above (in purple) and presented below.
1 In my Sujood
Sujood means to bow down with your face on the floor. Many of the prophets made Sujood, even those before prophet Muhammed (PBUH). Examples of previous messengers making Sujood can be found in many of the previous religious scriptures. Let’s take a look.
Quran:
“you who believe! Bow down, and prostrate yourselves, and worship your Lord and do good that you may be successful” (Quran 22:77)
Bible:
“Abram fell face down, and God said to him..” (GENESIS 17:3)
“Moses bowed to the ground at once and worshiped” (Exodus 34:7-9)
“Going a little farther, he (Jesus) fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him” (Mark 14:34-36)
“Ezra praised the LORD, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground“ (Nehemiah 8:5-7)
Shikshapatri (Hinduism):
“Offering respect to Him by Sashtang Dandvat Pranam. I consider these eight practices to be of high value. All my disciples shall practise any one of them devoutly as additional religious austerity, during the period of Chaturmasa” (Shikshapatri V78)
Shashtang means to pray by allowing 8 parts of the body to touch the floor. This is achieved through prostration (Sujood).
Sutra of the Three Heaps (Buddhism):
Buddhists are taught to prostrate to the 35 Buddhas. They recite various verses during this including:
“To the Founder, the Transcendent Destroyer, the One Thus Gone, the Foe Destroyer, the Fully Enlightened One, the Glorious Conqueror from the Shakyas, I bow down“ (Skt: Triskandhadharmasutra)
2 You ease my pain I only find my peace through you
“Only in remembrance of Allah (swt) will your heart find peace“ (Quran 13:28)
Final Thoughts
This is a powerful reminder of the importance of Sujood.
While I favour other tracks on the album over this one, I have certainly enjoyed reviewing this the most – due to the powerful nature of the topic.
