Safe Adam: Holy | Lyrics
Holy is an extremely well produced, relaxing Nasheed by Safe Adam.
Furthermore, the track is free from musical instruments and still sounds great – not easy to achieve at all.
Tell me more about Safe Adam
Imagine being the person who writes music for Ed Sheeran, touring with him and watching his progression as his fame goes up.
Now imagine walking away from all that for the sake of Allah.
That’s exactly what Safe Adam did.
Then, Safe Adam became a Nasheed artist who initially used musical instruments. But he has recently taken the instruments out. Safe is now a vocal only artist and it seems to be going really well for him.
About Holy
Holy is quite a simple song, praising Allah and describing his attributes.
Why is Allah called Holy here?
Holy is actually one of the names of Allah. He has at least 99 names, and al-Quddus is one of them, which means holy.
Fantastic hook!
Between the chrous comes a hook which is simply the shahada “La Illa Ha Il Allah”. This phrase is repeated in many Nasheeds. However, Safe Adam has once again found a fresh way to sing it. In Fact, I recall Safe did a similar thing with the phrase ‘Bismillah’ in his song ‘Praise‘.
So, whats the plan with the track?
The track is set to feature in Safe Adam’s second album ‘Intensions’, which will be out soon Inshallah.
Beyond the lyrics and production, the music video stands out too.
Holy Music Video
Video analysis:
Filmed by 26 productions, the video is high quality and colour graded to perfection.
The gist of the video is simple. Safe Adam walks into an Islamic shop (Cave London), has a coffee and looks through the products, including caps, scarves and hoodies.
What is Cave London?
It’s a real shop!
Cave is an online Islamic shop with a flagship store based in London. They deliver world-wide and have a huge range of modest Muslim clothing for men and women. Check out the Cave London Website. Other Islamic brands can be found on my blog about Knee Length Shorts.
So, let’s take a look at the lyrics to Holy.

Lyrics Analysis
The lyrics have been numbered above, any references to Quran and Hadith have been called out below… and there’s alot in this amazing Nasheed!
1 – One of the names of Allah
Oh Holy
This name of Allah is actually mentioned in the Quran chapter 59, verse 23.
“He is Allah—there is no god except Him: the King, the Most Holy, the All-Perfect, the Source of Serenity, the Watcher ˹of all˺, the Almighty, the Supreme in Might,1 the Majestic. Glorified is Allah far above what they associate with Him ˹in worship˺!”
(Quran 59:23)
2 – Allah Provides with Everything
You provide us with all we need
Another statement backed up by the Quran in chapter 51, verse 58
“Verily, Allah is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong.”
(Quran 51:58)
3 – He made the sun and moon
The sea, sun and moon. Were all made from you
Safe is doing great with references in this track. Because, here we have another statement with a direct quote to back it up from the Quran.
Fun fact, the verse below refers to the sun and moon being in orbit. We now know that the moon orbits the earth, and even the sun is in a much larger orbit around the centre of the milk way. Learn more from Nasa
“It is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its rounded course”
(Quran 21:33)
Final Thoughts on ‘Holy’
I love all of Safe Adam’s songs. But, it had been a while since I really found myself attached to a new release from him. Holy is the perfect song. It’s simple, music free and relaxing.
My favourite Safe Adam song is ‘Praise‘ and I feel ‘Holy’ is right up there with it.
